Some very useful shortcut keys in MS Word

(Note: All these shortcut keys are tested in MS Word 2003 & they work fine. Please excuse us if some of the shortcut keys do not work with a later or older version of MS Word.)

Some of the shortcut keys are used quite often by you and are very familiar, but some may brush up your memory & will help you out if you are too lazy to disturb the mouse.

We start with how to open MS word using key board.

Press the windows key on your keyboard. Using the arrow keys go to RUN option. (Alternatively, you can open the Run dialog box using Windows key + R).

Type WINWORD in the dialog box and a new document of Microsoft Word will open.

There are n numbers of short cut key combinations in Word but discussing all at a time may increase the confusion rate.

The basic shortcut keys are Ctrl + A (Select all in a document), Ctrl + C (Copy selected text), Ctrl + X (Cut selected text), and Ctrl + V (Paste copied or cut Text).
